How to Cancel Disney+ (and Why There's No Free Trial to Cancel)

Last verified: October 21, 2026, against the Disney+ Help Center, the Disney+ Subscriber Agreement and Hulu Help.

Quick answer

  • Disney+ doesn't have a free trial. Its Help Center says: "Disney+ does not offer a free trial." (Disney+ Help: Getting started)
  • To cancel (billed by Disney+): log in at DisneyPlus.com in a computer or mobile browser โ†’ Profile โ†’ Account โ†’ your Disney+ subscription under Subscription โ†’ Cancel Subscription. (Disney+ Help: How to cancel)
  • Deadline: cancel before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the day before your subscription term ends to avoid the next charge. (Disney+ Subscriber Agreement, ยง2(e))

If you thought you started a Disney+ free trial, you most likely either paid for the first month, got Disney+ through a partner or bundle, or started a Hulu + Live TV trial, which includes Disney+ (see below).

What Disney+ costs now (US)

Disney raised prices on September 23, 2026 for new subscribers. If you signed up before then, Disney says "you will see a price change in your billing cycle on or after October 21, 2026", which is today. That's a good reason to decide now whether to keep it.

Plan Price (new subscriptions as of Sept 23, 2026)
Disney+ (With Ads) $12.49/month
Disney+ Premium (No Ads) $21.49/month or $214.99/year
Disney+, Hulu Bundle (With Ads) $12.99/month
Disney+, Hulu Bundle Premium (No Ads) $21.99/month
Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle (With Ads) $21.99/month
Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max Bundle (With Ads / No Ads) $21.99 / $34.99 per month

Discounts Disney does list: the Disney+ Hulu Student Bundle discount and a Military discount for eligible subscribers. (Disney+ Help)

The trial that does include Disney+: Hulu + Live TV

Hulu's Help Center says free trials are "currently available for the Hulu + Live TV, Disney+, and ESPN plan," for new and eligible returning subscribers "who have not subscribed to Hulu in the past 12 months." (Hulu Help: Free trials)

  • Length: "depends on the subscription," and trial lengths are "subject to change." Check the end date on your Hulu Account page. (Hulu's page doesn't state the current length.)
  • After the trial: "you will automatically be charged the current monthly rate of the plan you selected."
  • To cancel during the trial: go to your Hulu Account page in a computer or mobile browser โ†’ Cancel under Your Account โ†’ follow the on-screen steps. You'll get a confirmation email.
  • Watch for prorated charges: if add-on trials end on different dates, Hulu says "you will see a prorated charge."

Step 1: Find out who bills you

Disney says: "If you signed up for Disney+ through a third-party billing partner, the steps to cancel your subscription may vary." (Disney+ Help) Disney lists these billing partners: Amazon, Apple, Google, Hulu, Kroger, HBO Max, Roku, Spectrum, Total Wireless, Verizon, Xfinity. (Disney+ Help: Third-party subscriptions)

If you're billed by Disney+, your Account page shows "the price of your current plan," "your upcoming billing date" and "your subscription status." (Disney+ Help: Subscription information)

How to cancel on the web (computer or phone browser)

  1. Log in to DisneyPlus.com in a computer or mobile browser.
  2. Select your Profile.
  3. Select Account.
  4. Select your Disney+ subscription under Subscription.
  5. Select Cancel Subscription. (Disney may show offers first. Keep going until you see the cancellation confirmed.)

You keep access "until the end of your current subscription term." (Disney+ Help) The Subscriber Agreement's direct link is disneyplus.com/account/cancel-subscription. (Subscriber Agreement ยง2(e))

How to cancel on iPhone or iPad

  • Billed by Disney+ (everyone who signed up recently): use the web steps above in Safari. Disney says new and returning subscribers "are no longer able to sign up and pay for Disney+ through Apple."
  • Billed by Apple (older subscriptions): Settings โ†’ your name โ†’ Subscriptions โ†’ Disney+ โ†’ Cancel Subscription. (Disney+ Help, Apple Support)

How to cancel on Android

  • Billed by Disney+: use the web steps above in Chrome.
  • Billed by Google Play (older subscriptions; Disney says new sign-ups can no longer pay through Google): go to the Google Play store in a web browser โ†’ account icon โ†’ Payment & subscriptions โ†’ Subscriptions โ†’ Disney+ โ†’ Manage โ†’ Cancel subscription. (Disney+ Help) Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel anything. (Google Play Help)

On a TV, Roku or Fire TV

Disney's cancel steps are for "a computer or mobile browser," so use your phone or laptop even if you watch on TV. - Roku: if you signed up on a Roku device, Disney says to "manage or cancel your subscription directly through Disney+" (the web steps above). - Amazon: older Amazon-billed subscriptions are cancelled at Amazon Memberships and Subscriptions in a web browser โ†’ Disney+ โ†’ Cancel Subscription. New sign-ups on Fire TV "will be billed directly through Disney," so use the web steps.

(Disney+ Help: Third-party subscriptions)

Bundles, Hulu and partners

  • Bundle billed by Hulu: manage it in Hulu, or, if eligible, through Disney+.
  • Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max bundle bought through HBO Max: manage it through HBO Max.
  • Upgraded to a bundle from an existing Hulu/ESPN/HBO Max plan: cancelling the bundle means "your original Hulu, ESPN, or third-party billed subscription will continue at the then-current price" unless you cancel that too.

(Disney+ Help: How to cancel) - Verizon, Spectrum, Total Wireless, Kroger Boost, Xfinity: manage through that provider's account. Verizon customers can also cancel directly through Disney+. (Disney+ Help)

Pause instead?

Monthly subscriptions billed by Disney+ can be paused: Account โ†’ your subscription โ†’ Pause Subscription โ†’ choose a duration. "Certain plans may not be eligible." The pause starts on your next billing date, and pausing Disney+ also pauses the other services in a bundle. (Disney+ Help)

Already charged? Refund tips

  • Disney's policy: "Except as required by applicable law, we do not refund or credit for partially used subscription terms and/or billing periods, although we may provide such refunds or credits on a case-by-case basis in our sole and absolute discretion." (Subscriber Agreement ยง2(e)) So it's worth asking: cancel first, then contact Disney+ support (live chat and phone, 24/7 per the Help Center) and explain that you didn't mean to renew. A refund isn't guaranteed.
  • Billed by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com โ†’ "I'd like to" โ†’ "Request a refund." Apple says to expect an update in 24 to 48 hours. (Apple Support)
  • Billed by Google Play, Amazon or a carrier: their refund rules apply. Disney says third-party terms govern "billing, cancellation/refunds." (Subscriber Agreement ยง2(g))
  • Changed your mind after cancelling? Before the term ends: Account โ†’ Restart Subscription โ†’ Agree. (Disney+ Help)

FAQ

Does Disney+ have a free trial in 2026? No. Disney's Help Center says "Disney+ does not offer a free trial." Hulu currently offers a free trial on its Hulu + Live TV plan, which includes Disney+ and ESPN, for eligible subscribers.

When do I need to cancel Disney+ to avoid the next charge? Before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the day before your subscription term ends, according to the Disney+ Subscriber Agreement.

Do I keep Disney+ after I cancel? Yes. Disney says you keep access until the end of your current subscription term. If you got Disney+ through a free trial, promo code or credit, the Subscriber Agreement says cancellation "may be effective immediately."

How much is Disney+ now? For new US subscriptions since September 23, 2026: $12.49 a month with ads, or $21.49 a month ($214.99 a year) for Premium without ads. Earlier subscribers see the change on or after October 21, 2026.

Can I get a refund for Disney+? Disney doesn't normally refund partially used billing periods but may do so case by case. If Apple, Google or another partner billed you, ask them.

Does deleting the Disney+ app or account cancel my subscription? Deleting the app doesn't. Cancel on DisneyPlus.com (or with your billing partner). Disney says cancelling doesn't delete your account. You can delete the account separately after cancelling.

Can I cancel Disney+ on my TV? Disney's steps use a computer or mobile browser. Sign in at DisneyPlus.com on your phone or laptop, or cancel with your billing partner (such as Amazon or a TV provider).

Never pay for a forgotten trial or promo

Disney's terms say that for free trials "you will not receive a separate notice that your free trial is about to end," unless the law requires it. Promotions roll over to the full price too. TrialGuard fills that gap: forward the sign-up email for any trial or promo (Hulu + Live TV, a carrier deal, anything) to add@trialguard.app and get an email 2 days before you're charged. It's free for up to 3 active trials. TrialGuard Plus ($3.99/month or $29/year) adds unlimited trials and extra reminders 7, 3 and 1 days before. TrialGuard reminds you; you still cancel with the service yourself.
